Day in the Life

You fire up your work tablet, review work orders, and triage the fleet: a bus with a steering complaint, a coach with an electrical fault, and a vehicle due for a full preventive service. You move from system to system with precision—steering and suspension checks, cooling and lubrication reviews, and thorough brake inspections. You trace driveline vibrations, inspect clutches and transmissions, and verify oil, temperature, and fuel regulation components. When an engine needs it, you adjust, test, and rebuild—always to spec and in compliance with all applicable Federal, State/Provincial, and local requirements.

During preventive maintenance, you test drive to validate reported driver concerns. After repairs, you road test again to confirm the problem is resolved the first time. You install, program, replace, and verify telematics devices to keep vehicles connected and data flowing. If a breakdown happens, you’re ready for a road call to get students moving again.

  • Test drives during preventive inspections and post-service verification drives to ensure issues are fully resolved

  • Road calls and on-the-spot roadside fixes as assigned
  • Accurate time, parts usage, and service documentation via work tablet and approved forms
