About the Role
We're seeking a motivated Technician III to support maintenance operations at one of our sites. This role encompasses fundamental vehicle diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance. You'll diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, perform essential repairs, and ensure vehicles meet safety and compliance standards. You'll be an important contributor to our transportation operations, helping maintain fleet reliability and safety for students and communities.

ResponsibilitiesVehicle Diagnostics & Repair
Diagnose malfunctions including steering, electrical, cooling, lubricating, braking systems, drive trains, suspensions, power steering units, clutches, oil, temperature, gas regulating components, transmissions, engines, and related assigned duties within qualification level, in accordance with all relevant Federal, State/Provincial and local guidelines and requirementsPerform test drives during Preventative Maintenance inspections to identify driver reported issues and conduct test drives after service to confirm repairs have been completed successfully
Maintenance Operations & Quality Control
Arrange for and obtain appropriate inspections and approval of all major repairs before the vehicle is released from the maintenance facility
Identify and report any additional maintenance and/or repairs found necessary in conducting assigned repairs and maintenance including repairs and maintenance required to be performed by Technicians with a higher qualification level
Record time spent, parts used and repairs and/or maintenance conducted on the appropriate formPerform minor road calls and on-the-road repairs as assigned
Safety & ComplianceMaintain a safe, clean, productive, and efficient work area including ensuring the work area is in compliance with all relevant Federal, State/Provincial, local guidelines and requirements, and company Housekeeping standards and safety regulations
Advise Lead Technician of unsafe maintenance conditions or practices and/or vehicle abuseWork assigned shift as required
QualificationsBasic Qualifications:Minimum of one to two years medium/heavy truck Fleet mechanic repair experienceDiagnostic, Electrical, and AC skills are a must
Technical knowledge of major vehicle systems and diesel equipment is required
Previous fleet experience with familiarity with diesel and gasoline systems
Possess the recommended minimum hand tools for a Medium/Heavy Duty and Diesel TechnicianAbility to use good judgment and decision-making skills
Preferred Qualifications:Valid CDL License (Must be able to obtain within the first 90 days of employment)ASE Certification desirable
The targeted pay range for this role in US CA is: $50,000 - $60,000
