Position: EHS Training Coordinator

The EHS Training Coordinator will establish, lead, and manage ZincFive’s safety training program. This role will build a scalable training system that supports workplace safety compliance, strengthens operational performance, and fosters a safe and productive work environment. The coordinator will oversee the full training lifecycle, including needs assessment, program design, scheduling, delivery, documentation, competency verification, and effectiveness measurement. Working closely with department leaders, this role will ensure employees have the knowledge and practical skills needed to perform their jobs safely and effectively.

This position is based on site at ZincFive’s headquarters in Tualatin, Oregon, and reports to the Director of EHS.

EHS Training Coordinator Job Duties:

  • Lead the development, launch, and ongoing operation of the ZincFive Safety Training Program to comply with federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA standards and industry-specific requirements
  • Partner with department leaders to identify safety training needs
  • Build and maintain an annual safety training plan and calendar and certification and recertification programs
  • Establish a practical train-the-trainer model that enables subject-matter experts to deliver consistent, effective safety instruction
  • Design, develop, and maintain safety training materials, presentations, facilitator guides, standard work, job aids, assessments, and competency checklists
  • Design, coordinate, and deliver training programs for employees, covering topics such as equipment use, emergency procedures, hazard recognition, and safe work practice
  • Apply adult-learning principles and hands-on learning methods for all employee levels
  • Coordinate internal subject-matter experts and external instructors, vendors, and training partners
  • Ensure training content is accurate, current, accessible, and aligned with approved procedures, policies, and SOPs
  • Monitor and analyze safety performance metrics to identify trends and implement improvements

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health or a related field; equivalent relevant experience
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in safety coordination, training or compliance training
  • Superior communication skills; verbal, written and presentation
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct safety needs assessments and translate requirements into practical learning programs
  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills, including the ability to engage all level of employees
  • Experience creating training materials, job aids, assessments, and competency-verification tools
  • Experience administering or working extensively with a learning-management system and Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong project-management, organization, scheduling, documentation, and stakeholder-management skills
  • Ability to analyze training data, identify trends, and communicate results clearly to leaders
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, hands-on operational environment
  • Experience in manufacturing, batteries, clean energy, electrical systems, industrial operations, or technical service environments
  • Experienced in EHS, OSHA-related training, emergency response, electrical safety, lockout/tagout, and compliance-training practices
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards, with experience working within ISO-certified management systems and maintaining audit-ready training records, documentation, and compliance-related training data
  • Knowledge of instructional design, adult-learning theory, competency-based training, or blended learning
  • Experience implementing an LMS program, training matrix, or structured workforce-qualification program

Preferred Experience/Skills:

  • Advanced degree
  • Certified Safety Professional or OSHA training credentialing

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Warehouse, lab, manufacturing and office environments
  • Must be able to wear proper arc flash rated PPE along with standard PPE requirements on face and body
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
  • Work involves frequent bending, sitting, walking, and climbing ladders when needed
  • Requires close visual acuity, the ability to distinguish color, and the ability to hear
  • Must be able to maintain a level state of alertness while performing this job
