Position: IT Engineer

Qualification: 3rd Level Qualification in a Software/IT/Computer Science discipline

Location: Dundalk/Rathcor Co. Louth

XOCEAN is an ocean data company – we collect data for clients ranging from mapping the seabed to monitoring the environment. However, we do this differently, instead of using conventional crewed survey ships, we have developed a marine robotic system known as an Uncrewed Surface Vessel (USV). Overview

The successful candidate will be involved in the continuous development and support of XOCEAN’s IT Environment. They will work with all aspects of IT, including Hardware, Software, and Cloud Services to provide a first class end user experience.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include:

• Assist with day-to-day IT operations.
• Provide IT support to all XOCEAN users and escalate issues when necessary.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and peripherals to identify issue root causes.
• Document support activities, including resolutions, troubleshooting steps, and change management requests.
• Satisfy agreed SLA for IT Trouble Tickets to avoid unwanted user downtime due to IT issues.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for the configuration and maintenance of PCs and IT hardware onboard USVs
• Be the primary owner of the configuration and development of Jira Service Management platform.
• Deliver approved IT projects from planning and execution to deployment and support, ensuring goals are met on time and within scope.
• Prepare and maintain documentation on all projects.
• Appropriate use of Change Management methods and alignment with ISO27001 standards.

Requirements: Essential Skills / Attributes and Experience

• 3-4 Years experience in an IT role
• Experience with Microsoft 365 Platform.
• Strong knowledge of Windows 10/11 Operating Systems.
• General experience with IT Hardware/Software issues.
• Strong understanding of networking and firewalls.
• Ability to manage time independently, tasked with short term reactionary duties as well as long term strategic projects.
• Flexibility to travel between XOCEAN sites in Dundalk and Rathcor.

Desirable Experience

• Experience with Dell hardware.
• Experience with Jira Project development, Screen Connect configuration
• Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or working to achieve are a plus.
