Who Are We?

XNRGY Climate Systems is a North American leader in sustainable HVAC solutions and advanced manufacturing of custom air treatment systems. We design and manufacture energy-efficient climate systems for applications including data centers, healthcare facilities, industrial buildings, and other mission-critical environments.

As part of our continued growth in the United States, XNRGY is seeking an experienced Plant Supplier Quality Engineer to join our team in Mesa, Arizona.

Position Overview

The Plant Supplier Quality Engineer protects plant operations from supplier-related quality disruptions and ensures production continuity in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

This position serves as the first line of defense between incoming supplier material and production. The Plant QE will monitor supplier quality performance, lead containment activities, investigate supplier-related non-conformances, drive corrective actions, and proactively identify supplier risks before they impact production.

Working cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Engineering, Procurement/Sourcing, Corporate Supplier Quality, and external suppliers, this individual will play a critical role in preventing line stoppages and continuously improving supplier quality performance.

Key Responsibilities

Supplier Quality Performance

  • Monitor daily supplier quality performance, including PPM, line disruptions, repeat defects, and other key supplier quality metrics.

  • Maintain supplier quality dashboards and identify trends requiring corrective action or escalation.

  • Identify high-risk and underperforming suppliers and proactively implement mitigation plans to protect production continuity.

Containment & Production Line Protection

  • Lead immediate containment activities for supplier-related non-conformances.

  • Coordinate sorting, rework, material segregation, controlled shipping, and other containment activities.

  • Ensure suspect or non-conforming supplier material does not negatively impact production.

  • Respond quickly to supplier quality issues that could create production delays or line stoppages.

Non-Conformance & Corrective Action Management

  • Issue, manage, and track supplier Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).

  • Lead structured root cause analysis using methodologies such as 8D and 5-Why.

  • Work directly with suppliers to develop and implement sustainable corrective and preventive actions.

  • Validate the effectiveness of corrective actions prior to closure.

  • Identify repeat or chronic supplier issues and escalate when appropriate.

Supplier Risk Management

  • Proactively identify supplier quality risks that could impact manufacturing operations.

  • Develop mitigation and recovery plans for high-risk supplier situations.

  • Escalate chronic, high-impact, or unresolved supplier quality issues through established governance processes.

  • Support the plant in minimizing supplier-related production interruptions and quality costs.

Cross-Functional Plant Support

  • Partner closely with Manufacturing, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Procurement/Sourcing, and Corporate Supplier Quality to resolve supplier-related issues.

  • Support new product launches, engineering changes, and production changes from a supplier and plant quality risk perspective.

  • Communicate supplier quality concerns clearly and effectively to internal stakeholders and suppliers.

  • Provide technical quality support during urgent production and supplier situations.

Supplier Compliance & Documentation

  • Maintain accurate supplier quality records, including NCRs, deviations, corrective actions, containment activities, and supplier performance documentation.

  • Ensure supplier compliance with applicable ISO, UL, regulatory, engineering, and plant-specific requirements.

  • Support supplier audits and quality inspections as required.

  • Ensure appropriate quality documentation is maintained and available to support plant and supplier quality activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or another related engineering field.

  • 3+ years of experience in Supplier Quality, Manufacturing Quality, or a closely related quality engineering role within a manufacturing environment.

  • Strong experience with supplier non-conformance and corrective action management.

  • Demonstrated experience leading containment activities and mitigating production line-stoppage risks.

  • Strong knowledge of structured problem-solving methodologies including 8D, 5-Why, and Root Cause Analysis.

  • Working knowledge of core quality tools including SPC, PFMEA, Control Plans, and corrective action systems.

  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical requirements.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong communication and supplier management skills.

  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a high-urgency, fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within HVAC, industrial equipment, automotive, aerospace, heavy manufacturing, or another complex engineered-product manufacturing environment.

  • Experience conducting or supporting supplier audits and quality inspections.

  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems.

  • Lean, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement training or certification.

  • Experience working directly with suppliers to resolve quality and production issues.

  • Spanish speaking capabilities.

Skills & Attributes

The successful candidate will be:

  • Proactive and comfortable taking ownership of supplier quality issues.

  • Highly organized with strong time-management skills.

  • Able to manage multiple urgent priorities simultaneously.

  • Detail-oriented and data-driven.

  • An effective communicator who can work with suppliers, engineers, production teams, and leadership.

  • Comfortable operating in a fast-moving manufacturing environment.

  • Persistent in driving problems through root cause and permanent corrective action.

  • Focused on protecting production while maintaining strong supplier relationships.

  • Committed to high ethical standards, integrity, and quality.
