Opportunity
We are hiring Factory Commissioning Testing Test Technicians to join our factory operations team. This is a hands-on opportunity for individuals with mechanical, electrical, HVAC, or industrial equipment experience who want to play a critical role in validating newly manufactured chiller systems before shipment. You will work alongside production, engineering, and quality teams to ensure equipment meets performance, reliability, and customer specifications. Day and night shifts.
Position Overview
The Factory Testing Test Technician will perform testing, troubleshooting, and validation of newly manufactured chiller systems in a controlled factory environment. This role works closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to verify equipment operation, identify and resolve issues, and ensure units meet performance and quality standards prior to shipment.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform functional testing of newly manufactured chiller units in a factory test environment
• Monitor equipment operation during test cycles and verify system performance against specifications
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, and controls-related issues identified during testing
• Diagnose and assist in repairing equipment to ensure successful completion of factory acceptance testing
• Execute system start-up procedures and verify proper operation of all components and subsystems
• Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and technical documentation
• Document test results, issues, corrective actions, and final test reports accurately
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve non-conformances and improve product quality
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Follow all safety procedures, testing protocols, and company standards
Work Environment
• Factory-based role with hands-on work in test bays and production areas
• Collaboration with production personnel, engineers, and quality teams
• Exposure to large commercial HVAC and chiller systems
• Some overtime may be required based on production schedules
What You'll Do (Day-to-Day)
• Perform operational testing on newly assembled chiller units
• Run equipment through factory test cycles and monitor system performance
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues discovered during testing
• Verify refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, and controls functions
• Complete testing documentation and quality records
• Support continuous improvement efforts related to testing and manufacturing processes
What You Bring
• 1+ years of experience in HVAC, mechanical, electrical, industrial maintenance, manufacturing, or related technical fields
• Basic understanding of HVAC systems, refrigeration cycles, electrical systems, or industrial equipment
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics
• Experience using hand tools, electrical test equipment, and diagnostic tools
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Reliable, detail-oriented, and safety-focused
Nice to Have
• Experience with chillers, air handling units, cooling systems, or large commercial HVAC equipment
• EPA 608 Certification
• Experience performing equipment testing, commissioning, or startup activities
• Knowledge of industrial controls, PLCs, VFDs, or building automation systems
