Turntide’s Transport group is based in the North East of England and is focused on delivering electrification systems – energy storage, power electronics and advanced electric motors – to deliver emissions-free mobility and industrial machines across global markets.

There is a massive change happening across industrial Transportation. Globally there is a rapid shift to new electrified platforms to meet the demands of their end users looking to reduce carbon emissions and create entirely new product types. Our Turntide for Electrification solutions help ease the customer journey and accelerate their transition.

We are hiring for a Business Development Manager (System Integrator) to join our team and drive our customer pursuits in Europe.

The preferred location for this role is our Gateshead (UK) facility, however remote based working will be considered for the right candidate, travel is expected around 25% of the time. This role reports into the Senior Sales Director – Europe.

Job Role

In this role the Business Development Manager (System Integrator) will be responsible for the following:

  • Develop our business with electrification system integrators, as well as distribution partners. This is a rapidly growing area as many OEM’s are outsourcing the development of electric powertrains.
  • Manage the sales process with new and existing customers from introduction to post-sales support
  • Manage an opportunity pipeline in Salesforce CRM system
  • Attend tradeshows and other industry events as needed to generate new sales leads and nurture existing customer relationships
  • Engage with a range of customers from small start-ups to global enterprises and from entry to executive level to establish new accounts and grow existing accounts
  • Work cross-functionally in the organization to ensure success of customer projects
  • Exceed annual targets and build up the pipeline for future success.
  • Support marketing, product management, sales operations, engineering and manufacturing to develop and execute campaigns for the region.

Experience and Skills

We’re looking for candidates with the following experience and skills:

  • Excels at working autonomously in a remote, fast-paced, and dynamic sales environment
  • Direct experience winning business with Vehicle OEMs in the CV, Off-Highway and non-road markets
  • Skilled at building new business by identifying targets and converting
  • Successfully navigates large and complex accounts to build relationships
  • Passionate about winning as a team (high degree of team-orientation)
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills
  • Travel up to 25% of the time

It would also be great (but not essential) if in addition to the above you also had:

  • Engineering & business background.
  • Direct experience with Electrification systems: motors, power electronics, thermal management, batteries, system integration
  • Deep understanding of the Electrification value chain (key players, competitors, potential partners, vehicle OEMs, etc.)

Qualifications

An Engineering degree or equivalent is required.
