Purpose of the Role:

As the MOF & Characterization Co-op, You will participate in material characterization activities related to carbon capture technology, use standard lab instruments and conduct scientific data analysis. You will also be responsible for contributing to method development, optimizing experiments, and preparing technical reports, SOPs, and other relevant documents.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • You are currently enrolled in Chemistry or Material Science degree.
  • You have experience in chemical synthesis (lab scale), wet chemistry and sample preparation.
  • You have knowledge in sorption and sorbent characterization techniques using lab instruments (e.g., TGA, DSC, DVS, XRD, EDS, PSD, FTIR, Sorption units, breakthrough unit, mass spectrometer, etc.), & data analysis.

What Success looks like in this role:

  • You will participate in material characterization activities relevant to Svante’s carbon capture technology and manufacturing methods.
  • You will use standard lab instruments and perform scientific data analysis and interpretation.
  • You will participate in method development & optimization and experimental uncertainty analysis.
  • You will prepare documents such as technical reports, SOPs, presentations, publications, and patents.
