POSITION: AZURE DATAWAREHOUSE ARCHITECT
The Azure Datawarehouse Architect will have a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on transforming data into actionable insights and driving decision-making across the organization. The Azure architect be the primary data architect for our Azure Cloud Data Warehouse and Analytics environment with a strong focus on optimizing the Azure data landscape as well as modeling the data and creating ETL pipelines for integrating the data into the Enterprise Data Warehouse.
This role reports to the IT Director of Data & Analytics and will lead the architecture of our Azure environment. They will work closely with data providers and data owners to proactively monitor and detect/diagnose underperforming solar systems using the suite of Microsoft Data Tools.
The ability to play a key role and lead across all initiatives and tasks involved in data management – from data ingestion using Azure Data Factory pipelines, data integration using stored procedures and python scripts, data quality monitoring, Azure devops code management and Azure cloud administration, is critical for the success of this role.
Key responsibilities include:
· Work on Azure Cloud platforms to create ETL pipelines, optimizing data processing and storage.
· Analyze raw data to organize and build efficient data systems and pipelines, developing algorithms and prototypes for prescriptive and predictive modeling.
· Apply advanced data modeling techniques to integrate data from various sources to enhance quality and identify opportunities for data expansion to create analytical tools and programs.
· Lead end-to-end requirements gathering, development, testing, and deployment for data projects.
· Lead all aspects of the development processes, including testing, troubleshooting and support activities.
· Collaborate with business functions to ensure accurate, complete, and available data for analysis.
· Define, document, monitor, and track key performance indicators (KPIs), providing regular reports to stakeholders. Escalate technical support issues to internal and external teams as needed.
· Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in Azure cloud management and data warehousing techniques contributing to the advancement of Business Intelligence and Analytical capabilities throughout the organization.
· Performs other duties as assigned.

TECHNICAL SKILLS
· 10+ years’ experience in data management with at least 5+ years of experience in Azure cloud administration.
· Experience with the following tools is mandatory:
· Azure Microsoft Databases
· Azure Data Factory
· Azure Portal Administration
· Expertise in Azure administration including IAM, storage management, Azure Advisor, Azure databases as well as Azure data monitoring tools.
· Expert-level ability to write and debug Python programs, complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and work with SQL Server relational databases.
· World class data modeling architecture experience including Star Schema/Kimball dimensional modelling.
· Should possess strong experience in designing slowly changing dimensions.
· Power BI and DAX experience a plus!
· Python experience is a plus!
· Authorized to work in the United States.
· Experience in solar industries is a plus.
EDUCATION
A bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
