The Position
The human resources (HR) director reports directly to the chief financial officer and is responsible for creating and implementing a human resources program for the organization. This includes, but is not limited to, supporting strategic objectives for the organization, overseeing the complete employee lifecycle, creating, and implementing company policies, and overseeing all employee needs. This position is required to possess the ability to handle confidential and sensitive matters and have unwavering ethical conduct.
Job Responsibilities
Human Resources
- Support strategic objectives for the organization by contributing information, analysis, and recommendations, including but not limited to comprehensive salary and benefits survey information.
- Works closely with the CEO, CTO and CFO to advise, counsel and provide coaching and resolution.
- Analyze trends and metrics to develop individual solutions, training and development programs, and new and updated HR policies.
- Oversee the complete employee lifecycle, including developing a new employee orientation program.
- Central management of career development plans and coordination of external training and development programs
- Oversee all employee benefits.
- Oversee compensation and benefits administration, including providing quarterly updates to executive management on key regional, subject matter and technical discipline trends.
- Manage recruiting and staffing needs, actively participating with the interviewing, and hiring process, both directly and via third party recruiting companies
- Maintain employee records including new hires, promotions, terminations, discipline records, and more.
- Manage staff bi-annual performance reviews.
- Be responsible for maintaining a highly engaging culture, motivating employees, fostering an environment with high levels of teamwork, accountability, communication, and vision to employees.
- Own all employee relations matters, acting as the first point of escalation.
- Promotes ethical and cultural awareness to the workforce through training, development, and consultation.
- Ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
- Oversee all HR systems such as ADP WorkforceNow and assess new HR software systems for appropriateness as necessary, ensuring integrability with other back-office systems where appropriate.
- Work with executive management to set yearly safety goals for the company.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources management or related degree, and a minimum of 3+ years’ related work experience
- Certified Society of Human Resource Professional (SHRM-CP) or equivalent
- Experience working in ADP WorkforceNow a huge plus or experience working in multiple HRIS systems.
- Experience with internal recruitment efforts.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, startup environment.
- Broad network of, and experience with, recruiting companies desired
