Mechanical Engineer II
Qnergy
If you’re the kind of engineer who gets bored babysitting legacy designs and actually wants to build something real. this is your lane.
Qnergy is tackling one of the toughest problems out there: turning wasted methane into reliable, clean energy. Our tech is rugged, our standards are high, and our engineering team is unapologetically hands-on. If you want a role where your designs go from CAD to the production floor to the field fast, you’re in the right place.
What You’ll Own
You’ll be a core player in the full product lifecycle: design ? test ? iterate ? release ? production support. Not in theory. In real life.
- Lead mechanical design and development for components and systems that actually have to survive the real world.
- Build and refine SolidWorks models and detail drawings (precision matters).
- Apply GD&T like someone who knows exactly why it matters.
- Create BOMs, routers, and parts in ERP/MRP (NetSuite preferred).
- Manage design data in PDM (Product Center experience is a plus).
- Write clear, usable production instructions—no novels, no guesswork.
- Own prototype builds, testing, verification, and validation for electromechanical and pneumatic systems.
- Push designs from concept ? prototype ? first article ? production.
- Bring Lean principles to life on the production floor (5S, standard work, VSM, waste elimination).
- Team up across engineering, manufacturing, and operations to hit deadlines and improve processes.
- Select materials, define specs, and support component sourcing.
- Keep projects organized with solid technical documentation and simple, on-point communication.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering (required). Master’s is a bonus.
- 3–5 years of real mechanical design + manufacturing experience (plant experience strongly preferred).
- SolidWorks mastery—no trainees, no “I watched a YouTube tutorial.”
- Familiarity with NetSuite, Product Center, or similar ERP/PDM tools.
- Comfortable working with electromechanical systems and pneumatics (preferred).
- Lean manufacturing experience, especially around bringing designs into production.
- Strong command of GD&T and modern manufacturing processes.
- Solid project management instincts—juggling multiple priorities without dropping the ball.
- Ability to build, test, troubleshoot, and iterate quickly.
- Communicates clearly, collaborates well, and knows when to push for better.
Work Environment
- Mostly desk work with hands-on time in prototype and production areas.
- Ability to lift up to 15 lbs. and access equipment/machinery as needed.
