Description

Job Summary: The Production Lead is responsible for the on-time and efficient delivery of quality products. They continuously monitor and improve production processes to ensure maximum output, cost efficiency and safe working conditions. The Production Lead plans work schedules, provides guidance for production team members and takes disciplinary action when needed. The Lead is responsible for reporting on the team’s performance to the Production Manager and making recommendations regarding ways to improve employee efficiency and job satisfaction.

Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure company safety standards are understood and adhered to.
  • Maintain and organize area of responsibility to 5S standard.
  • Determine production schedule sequences and make assignments to maintain on-time delivery to the production schedule.
  • Inventory production inventory parts and supplies for their production area, contact production control associate if inventory parts and supplies are needed.
  • When required, ensure sub-assembly builds are recorded or reported to the production control team daily.
  • Monitor their area’s production tools and equipment, coordinate maintenance activities, and suggest other needed equipment.
  • Provide, conduct, and document 4-step training program using the area standard work instructions and according to Qnergy’s Job competency written program.
  • Track certifications and training for team members and ensure they are current and up to date.
  • Conduct weekly team meetings which include support groups and management to communicate issues and promote Kaizen.
  • In conjunction with HR, document performance and implement performance improvement plans as needed.
  • Ensure the area’s production documentation (build books, job travelers, work orders etc.) is filled out correctly and complete documentation of any quality issues within the assembly area (Non-Conformances, Real Product Issues, Deviations etc.).
  • Maintain area equipment and perform basic repairs when needed.
  • Assemble fabricated metal products, electrical equipment, sub-assemblies, top-level assemblies, and more according to directions.
  • Read engineering drawings, standard work instructions, electrical schematics, or similar documentation, and then build to those specifications.
  • Use various machines and hand tools to accomplish assigned tasks.
  • Fill out product travelers per company policy to ensure quality and uniform completion; resolves any identified problems, and alerts supervisor.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • 6 years of experience or high volume or continuous flow manufacturing.
  • Mechanical experience and some electrical knowledge preferred.

Requirements:

  • Detail-oriented, consistent, organized, and able to multi-task.
  • Demonstrated team leader with the ability to build and maintain a high-quality assembly team.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills; including, ability to read and understand technical drawings, datasheets, and work instructions.
  • Basic ability in mathematics.
  • Excellent mechanical and electrical aptitude for hands-on, general, and precision work.
  • Working knowledge of assembly tools (hand and powered) and measuring equipment.
  • Working ability to perform in-process testing and inspection to ensure parts and assemblies meet production specifications and standards.
  • Good computer proficiency (emails, word processing, web-based applications, and managing computer files).

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods standing and performing repetitive tasks.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at a time.
  • Must have manual dexterity in order to assemble products or machines as directed.
  • Must have excellent hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to differentiate between colored wires, tabs, and electronic components.
