Summary Of The Role
The Dayshift Manager’s primary responsibility is to provides support to the safe, efficient and reliable operation of the Nextdecade RGLNG facility. This position works closely with the Production director for establishing the production team culture and setting the correct safety mindset and professional behaviors through following best practices of the global LNG business. The Dayshift Manager will lead the operation day stuff team, who will resposnible for front line support to operation shift teams, ensure that each operating shift is operating consistently across all 4 shifts once we are operating.

This position is located in Brownsville, TX.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide operational expertise to the operations team during CSU phase, Start up and normal/ abnormal operations
  • Own and manage critical operating registers such as LO-LC/CSO-CSC, leaks and seeps, passing valves registers, and IOR register; to ensure the safe operation of the facility
  • Own and manage the shift roster and ensure critical shift tasks are completed by different shift teams.
  • Responsible for Electronic Shift handover process and reporting and frequently audit the DCS/ field logs
  • Audit and report the operations team compliance with operating procedures, reviews and update the operation procedures as needed
  • Responsible to provide operational expertise to any risk assessments, and PHA, RCA, HSSE investigations which require operations representation
  • Work closely with Shift Managers to have alignment across the shifts in approach to work activities, information transfer and culture
  • Manage a team of shift-based Risk Assessment Supervisors guiding their performance to give consistency across the crews and alignment with managing the site Safe work strategies.
  • Responsible to provide operations input to the Turnaround planning activities. Responsible for the development of the shutdown and start-up philosophy procedures for all Turnarounds.
  • Interfaces with the engineering team as an operational SME for all MOC’s related to the plant operation
  • Manage the inventory and supply chain for production chemicals (diesel, amine, refrigerant Liquid Nitrogen) within the allocated budget
  • Support development of related production models/tools, databases and implement the system as required



Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 5 years frontline leadership in a large organization.
  • In depth understanding of production/operation management, production/operation business process flow, and overall job execution workflow
  • Good leadership skills and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels of the organizatin
  • Ability to get a Transportation Worker Identification Credentials (TWIC)
  • Ability to manage alignment between large stakeholders
  • Time Management and effective communication skills
  • Computer literate, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite



Preferred Requirements

  • Chemical engineering degree or equivalent with minimum 10+ years in LNG industry, gas processing, or relevant industry experience
  • Experience in mega projects and CSU phase



Work Environment

This position operates in a professional office environment with occasional work within or outside of a complex construction environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers/fax, filing cabinets, etc.This is primarily a sedentary role; however, the incumbent must be able to stand and/or sit continuously to perform all essential job functions for a full shift.

  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. as required in order to lift files, boxes and office equipment as necessary
  • Ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bending, standing on a stool, or climbing as necessary to perform these functions

  • The incumbent is required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms
  • Ability to move throughout all areas of each office/site location and facilities
  • Able to wear all necessary PPE equipment to perform job functions
