SUMMARY OF THE ROLE

The SAP Sr. Solution Architect is a technical leader who architects, implements, and optimizes SAP solutions that power the greenfield LNG company's financial, procure to pay, and maintenance operations. This role focuses on leveraging the latest SAP technologies, including S/4HANA, Business Technology Platform (BTP), and workflow capabilities, to ensure robust financial controls, insightful reporting, and data-driven decision-making. Liaises with cross-functional team members in other SAP modules or non-SAP solutions within LNG business. Ensure compliance with change control procedures for on-going changes, enhancements, and projects and maintains operational procedures around supported environments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the technical design of integrated SAP solutions for Procure to Pay (MM), Plant Maintenance (PM), and Quality Management (QM), ensuring seamless integration with Finance (FI) and Controlling (CO) within the SAP S/4HANA environment and non-SAP systems.
  • Design solutions tailored to LNG-specific requirements, including hydrocarbon management, asset tracking, and regulatory compliance.
  • Oversee technical implementation projects, including system configuration, data migration, and integration with other enterprise systems.
  • Leverage SAP and BTP workflow capabilities to automate business processes and improve operational efficiency.
  • Configure and customize SAP and non-SAP reporting tools to provide real-time insights into financial and operational performance.
  • Stay at the forefront of SAP technologies, including S/4HANA Cloud, BTP, SAP Fiori, and emerging trends in the energy industry.
  • Liaise with SAP Application Management Support (AMS) team to implement required configuration changes.
  • Collaborates with internal business customers and support team members to plan and execute user acceptance testing for new and modified processes and system components.
  • Liaise with cross-functional team members in other SAP modules or non-SAP solutions within LNG business.
  • Ensure compliance with change control procedures for on-going changes, enhancements, and projects and maintains operational procedures around supported environments.
  • Maintains documentation on all SAP production system changes and updates and associated transports for internal and external audit reasons and best practice system management.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to SAP functional and technical teams.
  • Mentor junior SAP consultants on technical best practices.

REQUIREMTNTS

Minimum/preferred experience required for the position:

  • 10+ years of experience in SAP implementation, configuration, and support for large-scale integrated solutions, preferably within the LNG industry or similar sectors (e.g., Refinery, Petro-chemical).
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA, specializing in the SAP MM, SAP PM, and SAP QM modules.
  • 3+ full life cycle SAP implementations
  • SAP S/4HANA experience is a must.
  • Knowledge of the SAP MM, SAP PM and SAP QM integration points with SAP FI/CO.
  • Experience in designing and implementing solutions on SAP BTP, including custom workflows and extensions.

Minimum/preferred knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position:

  • Demonstrates leadership in SAP project implementation and management.
  • Experienced in coordinating with IT and/or SAP Project Managers to organize, plan, and execute large-scale projects from vision through implementation, involving internal personnel, contractors, and vendors to meet objectives.
  • Successfully develops, implements, and supports applications within the latest SAP technology architecture environments.
  • Effectively liaises within multidisciplinary, high-performance work teams, supporting and empowering team members to complete their activities on time and with high quality.
  • Builds effective and creative cross-functional teams, fostering a positive and productive environment.

  • Extremely proficient in use of Microsoft office tools including but not limited to Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Visio, Teams.
  • Knowledge of S/4HANA 2022 suite of applications.
  • Knowledge of SAP Solution Manager and ChaRM would be ideal.
  • Experience of working with outsourced Application Management Support (AMS) provider.
  • Familiarity with SAP integration technologies with external systems like Energy Trading and Risk Management System (ETRM), Energy Components (EC), and some of the LNG plant related systems like DCS, OSI PI, LIMS, MOC, will be a plus.

Required/preferred education:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.

Required/Preferred Certifications:

  • SAP certifications (e.g., SAP Certified Technology Associate or Professional) are highly preferred.
  • PMP Certification preferred but not mandatory.

Work Environment

This position operates in a professional office environment with occasional work within or outside of a complex construction environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers/fax, filing cabinets, etc. This is primarily a sedentary role; however, the incumbent must be able to stand and/or sit continuously to perform all essential job functions for a full shift.

Able to meet the following physical demands of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations:

  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. as required in order to lift files, boxes and office equipment as necessary.
  • Ability to open filing cabinets and bending, standing on a stool, or climbing as necessary to perform these functions.
  • While performing the duties of this role, the incumbent may be required to talk or listen.
  • Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • The incumbent is required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
  • Ability to move throughout all areas of each office/site location and facilities.
  • Able to wear all necessary PPE equipment to perform job functions.
