JOB SUMMARY

The Superintendent, Mechanical Maintenance, provides leadership and oversight of mechanical maintenance execution activities including personnel, with the objective of maximizing availability of equipment across the facility. This role will be based in Houston initially, relocating to Brownsville, Texas in 2025.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Demonstrate proactive safety leadership to the Maintenance team.
  • Responsible for the safety and wellbeing of execution team, leads by example to set and maintain a positive safety culture of compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Coach, Mentor and Lead Maintenance team members to reach their full potential.
  • Ensure competent labor availability to cover critical activities.
  • Provide oversight and leadership to all maintenance disciplines as required, not just Mechanical, including Instrument & Controls, Electrical, Plant Services, Specialist Vendors and Contractors upholding the One-Team approach
  • Stakeholder in the development, implementation and ongoing support of the Integrated Activity Planning & Scheduling process for RGLNG
  • Support and continuously review Preventative & Corrective Maintenance Plans aligned with the equipment selected for the facility
  • Lead the execution activities for all SCE, Statutory, and Federal Regulations
  • Accountable for the mechanical maintenance execution activities of all breakdown, corrective, and preventative maintenance in the facility
  • Provide support to the leadership of the Turnaround Team prior and during Turnarounds
  • Lead mechanical teams in the execution of the Major Maintenance of plant and unit shutdowns
  • Responsible to safely complete all planned activities on the locked schedule, maximizing tool time and minimizing cost & deferrals.
  • Stakeholder in the review of materials and parts optimization
  • Demonstrate continuous improvement, value adding programs and cost saving initiatives.
  • Assist in the development and control of the Maintenance Budget.
  • Incident investigation event ownership.
  • May require travelling for meetings and/or training.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field or industry related experience
  • 5+ years LNG Export Facility experience in an Mechanical Maintenance Execution lead role, supervising Maintenance personnel
  • 10+ years experience in LNG/Oil & Gas/Petrochemical industries in a supervisory position
  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Mechanical Maintenance activities.
  • Competent at interpreting Engineering Drawings and Documentation i.e. P&ID, ISO, GA, etc.
  • Must have experience with the testing and inspection of Safety Critical Elements (SCE), Statutory and Federal Regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to get a Transportation Worker Identification Credentials (TWIC)Time Management and effective communication skills
  • Goal Setting and performance management skills
  • Exceptional working knowledge of CMMS systems (SAP or Similar)
  • Experience participating in FMEA or FMECA processes
  • Experience in developing critical maintenance procedures.
  • Working knowledge of an MOC process
  • Experience developing and reviewing a Maintenance Opex Budget.
  • Experience in frontline leadership during Turnarounds.
  • Mechanical LNG experience including Turbo machinery, compressors, loading arms, PSV’s, pumps, motors, vessels, valves, actuators, fin fans and flange management
  • Adaptability to manage changes in work environment in regards adhering to updated deadlines or unexpected delays.
  • Computer literate including proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Technical degree in Industrial Maintenance Mechanical or similar and NCCER preferred.
  • Leadership experience of cross functional teams

Work Environment & Physical Demands with or without reasonable accommodations

  • Operates in a complex construction environment.
  • Work is performed both in control room environment, with computers including DCS, and in the field in sometimes challenging weather conditions for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to wear all mandatory/necessary PPE equipment to perform job functions.
  • Ability to move throughout all areas of the facility, including being physically capable of traveling to a designed muster point during emergency situations.
  • Must be able to clearly communicate with others via radio, phone, and verbal methods.
