Through our wholly owned subsidiaries Rio Grande LNG (RGLNG), and NEXT Carbon Solutions, we are developing a 27 MTPA LNG export facility in South Texas along with one of the largest carbon capture and storage projects in North America. By combining emissions reduction associated with our carbon capture and storage project, responsibly sourced gas, and our pledge to use net-zero electricity, Rio Grande LNG is expected to produce a lower carbon intensive LNG for the world.
JOB SUMMARY
The Maintenance Supervisor, Instrumentation provides leadership and oversight of instrumentation maintenance execution activities including personnel, with the objective of ensuring safe, quality work practices while maximizing availability of equipment across the facility. This position is located in Brownsville, TX.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE)
- Demonstrate proactive safety leadership to the Maintenance team.
- Responsible for the safety and wellbeing of execution team, leads by example to set and maintain a positive safety culture of compliance and continuous improvement.
- Deliver the required maintenance execution meetings, including HSSE meetings, pre-starts, work allocation tasks, toolboxes etc.
- Coach, Mentor and Lead Maintenance team members to reach their full potential.
- Responsible for the Instrumentation maintenance execution activities of all breakdown, corrective and preventative maintenance in the facility
- Lead Instrumentation teams in the execution of the Major Maintenance of plant and Turnarounds.
- Responsible to safely complete all planned activities on the locked schedule, maximizing tool time and minimizing cost & deferrals.
- Lead the execution activities for all SCE, Statutory, and Federal Regulations and manage associated compliance processes including deferrals, backlog etc.
- Ensure competency compliance of Instrumentation team.
- Initial support and continued review of Preventative & Corrective Maintenance Plans aligned to the equipment selected for this facility.
- Stakeholder in the review of materials and parts optimization
- Provide coverage for the Maintenance Superintendent as required.
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years LNG export facility experience in an instrumentation maintenance execution lead role, supervising maintenance personnel
- 10+ years experience in LNG/Oil & Gas/Petrochemical industries in a supervisory capacity
- Technical degree in industrial maintenance instrumentation or similar.
- NCCER certification: Instrumentation Technician Level 4 preferred
- Ability to get a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
- Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all Instrumentation Maintenance activities.
- Competent at interpreting Engineering Drawings and Documentation i.e. P&ID, ISO, GA, etc
- Experience with the testing and inspection of Safety Critical Elements (SCE), Statutory and Federal Regulatory compliance.
- Experience in GOAL setting and performance management.
- Exceptional working knowledge of CMMS systems (SAP or Similar)
- Experience developing critical Maintenance procedures.
- Exceptional working knowledge of an MOC process.
- Experience in frontline leadership during Turnarounds.
- Relevant LNG Instrumentation maintenance experience including Integrated Control & Safety Systems (DCS / SIS), PLC’s, gas turbines, fire & gas detection systems, control valves, anti surge control, and field instrumentation is a must.
- Time Management and effective communication skills
- Adaptability to manage changes in work environment, adhering to updated deadlines or unexpected delays.
- Computer literate including proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
Work Environment & Physical Demands with or without reasonable accommodations
- Operates in a complex construction environment.
- Work is performed both in an office with computers including DCS, and in the field in sometimes challenging weather conditions for extended periods of time
- Must be able to wear all mandatory/necessary PPE equipment to perform job functions.
- Ability to move throughout all areas of the facility, including being physically capable of traveling to a designed muster point during emergency situations.
- Must be able to clearly communicate with others via radio, phone, and verbal methods.
