SUMMARY OF THE ROLE:
The Sr. Analyst, Financial is part of a dynamic team and actively provides financial information and analysis to support multiple functions developing our Rio Grande LNG (RGLNG) project. The Senior Financial Analyst will coordinate and participate in the design, testing, implementation, and review of complex manual and automated financial and accounting systems and processes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage monthly process for analyzing and updating operating budgets.
- Responsible for building Excel models to support the continued development of NextDecade's financial modeling infrastructure.
- Continually evaluating financial processes and identifying and implementing changes to drive efficiency and accuracy improvements.
- Communicating and collaborating with leadership across the company to support the budgeting and reporting processes.
- Independently prepare advanced ad-hoc analysis, reports, and presentations as needed.
REQUIREMENTS
Required Experience for the position:
- 5+ years of experience in Finance, Banking, Consulting, Corporate Development, or Economic Planning for an Energy Company
- Strong experience with economic models and quantitative analysis
- LNG industry experience preferred.
Required knowledge, skills and abilities for the position:
- Welcomes working in a fast-paced, challenging, and diverse environment.
- Strong Excel modeling skills and ability to model, run and analyze statistical and financial data.
- Demonstrate strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills emphasizing attention to detail.
- Proven ability to work well within a team and manage several projects in a deadline-oriented environment with a high degree of accuracy and accountability.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present analysis results coherently and succinctly.
- Preferred experience with SAP and/or PowerBI.
Required education:
- 4-year degree in Finance, Accounting, or similar; master’s degree a plus.
- Travel Requirements:
- 10% of business travel may be required.
Work Environment
This position operates in a professional office environment with occasional work within or outside of a complex construction environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers/fax, filing cabinets, etc. This is primarily a sedentary role; however, the incumbent must be able to stand and/or sit continuously to perform all essential job functions for a full shift.
Able to meet the following physical demands of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations:
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. as required in order to lift files, boxes and office equipment as necessary.
- Ability to open filing cabinets and bending, standing on a stool, or climbing as necessary to perform these functions.

- Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
- The incumbent is required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
- Ability to move throughout all areas of each office/site location and facilities.
- Able to wear all necessary PPE equipment to perform job functions.
