SUMMARY OF THE ROLE:

This is a Project Control Manager position to ensure comprehensive project controls are implemented, including management of cost, schedule, scope change, and risk control. Helps ensure project, through reliable schedule and cost estimates, achieves business goals on time and to budget. The typical cost range of these projects is from $300 million to over $10 billion.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage activities of the project controls team to create and implement the appropriate project work processes, practices, and procedures.
  • Develop implement and manage effective project controls, including budget, cost, schedule, and progress tracking and forecasting.
  • Implement the project controls execution plan.
  • Manage risk assessment, including how risk pertains to project budget and schedule impacts.
  • Facilitate project risk management workshop and maintain risk register and ensure implementation of mitigation action.
  • Lead the change management process ensuring contractual requirements, cost and schedule are adhered to.
  • Prepare project status reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders.
  • Identify and communicate to project manager issues that have the potential to materially affect ‎overall project performance.
  • Assist in the management of the Project Execution Plan, manage elements of project interfaces as associated with project controls, support project quality audits.
  • Identifies adverse trends based on project performance.
  • Prepares and analyzes Progress/Earned Value reports.
  • Perform site visits to support validation of construction progress.
  • Review EPC Contractor level 3 schedules (utilizing Primavera P6), identify negative trends, and perform critical path and variance analysis.
  • Support development and monthly updates of Owner’ Master Project Schedule (MPS).
  • Analyze potential change orders and its impacts on project schedule.
  • Review and analyze contractors’ monthly invoices.
  • Support Finance department for the development of Cash Flow curves.
  • Prepare formal presentation for cost management related topics.
  • Support bid evaluations.

Minimum education, experience, and skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Accounting, Business Management or Finance.
  • 15+years of relevant experience on Major Oil/Gas/power/LNG projects and 5+ years specifically in the LNG industry
  • Risk management, earned value management, planning, scheduling, estimating, cost and schedule trending, cost and schedule change control, and claims.
  • Extensive knowledge of project management and project controls principles and concepts.
  • Project management tools, i.e., planning (Primavera), cost management and risk management.
  • Lump-sum EPC contract management and execution.
  • Complex Problem Solving -- Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving capabilities with ability to manage a broad spectrum of business activities and issues under stressful conditions.
  • Motivates to meet project objectives; promotes candid communication and teamwork within group and project.
  • Effective communication skills, oral and written, with fluency in English. Written skills shall include strong technical writing.
  • Ability to comply with applicable laws and regulations, the Company’s Code of Business Conduct and other Company policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Engineering and Construction techniques and their costs impacts.
  • Strong analytical skills, and advanced skills with spreadsheets, charts, and presentations.
  • Advanced user of MS Excel. Good understating of MS PowerPoint, and Word.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

Initial assignment in Houston may need to move or frequent visit to project site
