We’re seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Manager to lead the charge on our pivotal projects. Successful execution will position this individual to grow into a Leadership role in our Project Execution team. This is a unique opportunity to work on a first of its kind technology, establish robust processes, and directly contribute to building a sustainable future.

Key Responsibilities

Project Execution and Delivery

  • Lead the successful execution of Carbon Upcycling’s capital projects, starting with our first commercial-scale facility, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and under budget.
  • Play a critical role in setting the foundation for 15+ significant projects over the next five years, each escalating in complexity.
  • Tackle project challenges with a hands-on, solution-driven approach, championing urgency and creativity to drive momentum and overcome obstacles.

Process Development

  • Establish and implement best-in-class project management frameworks, tools, and systems to streamline delivery and ensure consistent success.
  • Design and refine processes for project planning, execution, risk management, and performance evaluation.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with Engineering, R&D, Finance, and Business Development teams to align project objectives, timelines, and resources.
  • Proactively resolve cross-functional challenges, facilitating seamless communication and coordination among diverse stakeholders.

Leadership and Growth

  • Provide mentorship and guidance to project team members, fostering professional growth and building a high-performance culture.
  • Position yourself as a future leader in the organization, demonstrating strategic vision and the ability to scale operations.

Industry Representation

  • Act as a company ambassador, building relationships with external partners, stakeholders, and industry collaborators.

Qualifications and Experience

Experience

  • 10–15 years of progressive experience managing large-scale capital projects within industries such as oil and gas, power generation, or heavy industrial sectors. Preference given to candidates who have worked on the company side of these large-scale projects
  • Experience in a leadership role, coaching and managing project teams.
  • A proven track record of delivering projects across all phases: design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operational handover.
  • Hands-on experience progressing from a Project Engineer to a Senior Project Manager role.

Technical Expertise

  • Deep understanding of project management methodologies, engineering principles, and the capital project lifecycle.
  • Experience managing interdisciplinary teams, particularly in projects that merge R&D and commercial functions.

Leadership and Approach

  • Proven capability to implement foundational processes to drive efficient execution of complex projects.
  • An action-oriented mindset with an innate curiosity and a focus on identifying and executing effective solutions.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills, driving alignment and high performance across teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with innovative or first-of-their-kind technologies in a startup or scale-up environment.
  • Project management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent).
